What to Do on a Snuggly Rainy Day

Hello my beautiful Friends,

How are you doing? I’m back again with a new post. I actually decided to make a little detour and ignore my blogging schedule because today’s weather inspired me to jot down some things that can potentially make a gloomy day bright and enjoyable again.

This morning I woke up in a pretty lethargic mood. I wanted to walk around the city in the afternoon and take pictures, soak up the sunshine, watch people go by and all that jazz. But when I looked out the window, I saw nothing but pouring rain and grey skies. At this point I almost started to feel upset and depressed but then I realised that I can make a rainy day like this joyful too by cuddling up under a blanket with a great book, putting on a heartwarming record or what I personally really like doing on days like this is baking something delicious, comforting and sweet. 🙂 Every day is an opportunity to be happy but you’re the one who has to make it great and neither rain nor wind has that much influence to decide for you wether to feel great or depressed.

Here are my top tips to make the most of your rainy days. 🙂

Tip #1:  Find something good to read. I’m currently reading a fan fiction novel. Fan fiction stories are written by the members of a completely unique community that consists of amateur writers who take characters out of well-known movies and use those characters to tell all kinds of different stories. I’m currently reading one called “The Cullen Legacy” which is basically a love story that takes place in political environment with lots and lots of exciting practical knowledge about how America’s political system works. The main characters are obviously given by Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight but they’re not possessing superpowers. It’s a pretty incredible little community and I’m forever thankful to my incredible English teacher for introducing me into this world of endless stories. Note to self: it’s always good to have a yummy snack on hand and having a tasty blueberry muffin is probably the best way to go. I actually have a cooking video on YouTube. Wanna watch? 


Tip #2:  My second tip is to listen to some really good music, podcast or audiobook. Sometimes it just feels good to put your mind on standby and just consume quality contents while doing your housework or while chilling on the sofa. Here are the things I enjoy the most.

Real Ghost Stories Online:  It’s a ghost story podcast where real people tell their real ghost stories and Tony the host and his wife are reacting to them, discussing them and share their insights. I personally really enjoy hearing stories like this because I had weird, unexplainable experiences myself and to tell he truth, this podcast makes me feel like it’s Halloween all year round.

The Life Coach School Podcast: This is a life changing podcast. I learned  and I’ve been learning so much from the creator of this beautiful concept that the school builds on and every podcast makes me have a new “aha” moment each week. I definitely recommend this if you want to learn about yourself and want to find ways to be a better person and to be able to constantly develop emotionally.

As for music, I’m a huge Spotify fan and I have countless playlists that I like to listen to. Fortunately, there’s a playlist for every mood and on days like this, I usually go with the one that’s called “Acoustic Love”. It’s full of great covers and unplugged sessions. Tip #3: My third and last tip is to bake something. Although you’re stuck inside, you can still do something productive. Baking is a huge passion of mine so I usually look forward to putting on an apron and create something mouthwateringly delicious. Today in particular, I baked chocolate chip cookies. They turned out beautifully and it’s a whole different feeling to eat things you made with your own hands.
